Digital Citizenship for Teenagers

My assigned digiteen project was digital etiquette. Me and the people in my group had to teach seventh graders on how to act in the virtual world. We helped them set up their own avatar and showed them places where they could and not go. We showed them what all they could make their avatar do. A proper description of etiquette would be rules governing socially acceptable behavior. Good manners do matter on the internet, because it will prevent fights online and etc. This is a good source of digital etiquette.
Christina, Tiffany, Maddi, Miller, Dhabyah, Fatma, Anjie, and Tyler S were all in my group. I communicated a little bit to my partners. Miller excelled in leading the group in the direction it needed to go.
My Igoogle page was very helpful because I could get to places where I needed to get faster. I added tabs such as wiki discussions, wiki edits, digiteen discussions, digiteen blog posts, and diigo bookmarks were helpful because it held references of information that I needed for the project.

We had to teach the seventh graders how to play on lively. We showed them everything that they could do on there that was appropriate. We used the action wiki to record our ideas that we had for the project. The seventh graders were very interested in lively and wanted to start playing with it before we even got to explain what they could and not do. We selected them because they were the age group that would understand it and like it more than the other grades.

The team helped them get to a private place where only them and their friends could go and chat, and they would not have to worry about online predators. We accomplished what we needed to and more. The way it could be improved is by having more time to spend with the students on it. I think that this should be something for other schools to look into so if there are people that do not know how to act on the internet this would lead them in the wright path into learning digital citizenship. My team worked really good together and discussed a lot of things over. We could have improved our process by having more time to discus it over with the students. Tyler R. did an awesome job on creating the lively rooms by making the design of them very cool.

Digital Citizenship should be something to teach to children. So when the children grow up they will know how to act on the internet without already acting bad on it. It may also keep them out of trouble because they may be likely to be in some when they grow up and learn more about the internet. Another reason why it would be important to teach them is because if they had to make an interview on the internet for a job they would know how to act.

Really creative, and one of the most detailed videos (in a descriptive way). But some moments were REALLY corny.
