Introduction

Hi, I’m Jackson G. I live in Austinmer, NSW Australia. My favourite things are going mountain bike riding downhill and dirt jumps, playing Soccer my favourite soccer club is Arsenal who play in the English premier league, AFL, going to the beach for a swim or body boarding and playing my Xbox 360 some games I like to play are gears of war 2 and fifa 09. During the summer I completed my Bronze Medallion that was a hard course to do but it allows me to go on patrol at beaches and go out and rescue people who are in danger. In the bronze course we learnt to do resuscitation on people, how to deal with spinal problems and any other problems that happen at a beach.

I am currently going to The Illawarra Grammar School (TIGS) in Yr 9 our school offers a range of different activities to do. Some examples of activities that our school offers are camps for every year, school carnivals (i.e. swimming, athletics, music and drama, cross country) our school is located in Wollongong and just minutes away from the of Australia’s best beaches. We also hold a fete every year and there are many different stalls and games there. This year is our schools 50th year running since it was started back in 1959, when it started back then it only had 1 class that was all boys, now it has from K – Yr12 and has over 1000 students attending both boys and girls. Our school has 1 of the best educational facilities going around in all of the Illawarra.

The Illawarra is a great place to see if you are coming for a holiday over to Australia. It is about a 1 hour drive from Sydney. There are many different places to have holidays around the region and you will see some of the best beaches in Australia and if you don’t like the beach there are many kilometers of bush walking tracks up in the mountains. There are also shopping malls, the cinema, a range of different golf courses and Win Stadium which is the home for many sporting teams. The best known team who plays there is the rugby league team called St George Dragons.
