My name is Nathan Bow, I am 14 and I live in Wollongong. Wollongong is a town on the eastern coast of Australia. I live very close to the beach and I love it. During the summer I go to the beach a lot, I am also a lifeguard at my local Surf Life Saving Club. During the winter season I play soccer for my local team. I also love listening to music; I love the Presets and Powderfinger. On the weekends I like seeing friends and going into the mall. I also have a part time job, at an ice creamery called Wendy’s. I go to The Illawarra Grammar School (TIGS) which is in NSW.
I am currently in year 9 and I enjoy maths and my IST class. We are a multicultural school with the option to learn both French and Japanese and both subjects offer a wide selection of options to get involved with these communities. TIGS also offer many academic opportunities like debating, public speaking and writer’s camp. Not only is TIGS an academic school we are also very strong in other areas such as music, drama and sport. The TIGS school also offers many opportunities in these different areas of learning. TIGS is a unique school in the Illawarra region, we are one of few schools that have grades k-12. Also once every year each grade goes on a school camp which is a fun and exciting experience.
The TIGS school is located in Wollongong. This is in the wider area of the Illawarra. We are right on the beach and many of our students love going there. Wollongong is roughly 1 hour south of Sydney. Wollongong does not only have good beaches but it also has a shopping mall, Cinema and golf coarse. We are very lucky to live in a place that is so beautiful.
