Our class just finished watching the Digital Documentary, and in my opinion, every single kid that was interviewed was a total computer, who were all apparently antisocial. I think the video seemed a little bit paranoid about kids on the internet, but it still had a point. We need to strike a balance between careing about what kids see, and obsessively monitoring everything they do. The videos we watched yesterday taught us about internet safety. It was cool because it told you things that other people do. I could compare things that i normally do on the computer to what other people do. It talked about what's appropriate and inappropriate on the internet. I'm not on the internet all that much but it showed people who are on there all the time. There were things about conflicts in schools with the internet. My class just finished watching the "growing up online" video. The video helped me understand how important it is to be safe on the internet. The video also talked about growing up or being mature online. I thnk it is important to practice digital citisenship online. It means not being rude and not saying things that would affend other people (different races, cultures, or religions).
