CarolineD reflection

My assigned topic was Access. It is about how there are tons of kids all over the world who don't have access to the internet or even laptops. Thankfully there is something called the $100 laptop which is on the access page to learn more about it. The strengths of my groups were that we communicated well, (at least me and Chris). our weakneses were that we didn't communicate outside of our school. I feel that my poster is very informative. This also is about the $100 laptop. I think that digital… Continue

Devri R. reflection

Communication and Collaboration is about how people tech others about how to communicate with others with electronics. I worked and told people what i was doing and gave them some advise. I think my poster is informative because it shows people what communication is all about. I don't think I will discuss the digiteen with younger kids because it might be hard to understand. Continue

Kayla Reflection on Project

What I found important are that so many people use emoticons without knowing what they mean. Some weaknesses in my group were that we had a lot of words and we kept repeating them over and over again. Some strengths in our group is that we knew all about out subject and did an excellent job pasting pictures and all of that. Yes, One person wrote a lot about the subject and put one picture up. Yes, it is. My poster defines the definition netiquette and talks about the many ways to chat/talk onlin… Continue

Isabel W. Reflection on Project

I did Rights and Responsibilities and Scrutiny/Integrity! This is about the right that you have to read true information on the Internet, and the responsibility you have to check whether what you read is false or true. This can even be dangerous if it is a money offer and you give away your address or even your email. Some scams are harmless chain mails but others can scare people into doing something that they don't want to do. I didn't really get to talk with anyone in my group. They added a l… Continue

Jackson C wrap up

Hey My topic was commerce (generally blogging talking and buying on the internet) It was pretty easy and I got it done fairly quickly, But I think my whole group could have used its time more wisely. the poster I made seems fairly informative and eye catching but I don't think it was that important, If I were a elementry school teacher I would teach about internet safety. I think the most imporntant thing I can take away from this is how easy it is to get attacked on the internet and for people… Continue

Hunter Reflections

I did internet security and safety- entertainment. I learned that you should never talk to people you don't know and don't want to give of personal information. I think kids should learn about this when they start to get laptops and facebook. I really hope younger kids can have fun on the internet and still stay safe. Continue

BrandonP Reflection

I worked on Law-Freedom and Customization. I learned that there is a lot that is illegal and you can get in trouble for that people don't know about, for example, downloading music form Lime-wire is illegal. I think my group worked well together and shared work pretty evenly. I feel my poster demonstrates through pictures how computers and law meet. I think most kids are smart enough to not get in trouble. I think the older kids like the high schoolers are the problem. The most important thing I… Continue

Grant S Reflection

Bad posture and texting while driving can really affected you. My partner helped edit the page and really helped. Yes. It is a good poster and it shows lots of pictures and has good information. No. Some young kids may not get it. 10-20. To stay away from strangers on the internet. Continue

Collin Cummings Hackers

Hackers There are two very important terms, which are misused by many of us on a day-to-day basis. These words are hackers and crackers By hacker, you probably think of some teenager living in their parents garage who has way too much time on their hands. The truth is, most of the successful hackers who create viruses are really intelligent adults who will spend great amounts of time creating a virus that will make your life miserable. Sometimes they are paid to do this, other times they are ju… Continue

Collin Cummings Security and Safety

Security and Safety -The issue of protecting yourself from harm while on the internet, whether it is a virus, a stalker, or unfriendly people -The internet can be accessed by anyone and everyone! -The speed and innovation of the security and safety is how fast things can change to be made more secure. M.L.I law in the digital world

Well, its a little hard to find web law. First, there is internet in many countries. So, it is hard for world leaders to make web laws, because there are so many peple that have to agree. Another thing is that there are so many web sites, it would take forever to go through them all and make laws concerning what people may or may not do on certain web sites. For example, if the U.S wanted to make a law aginst putting your personal information on the internet, and the U.K didn't, then the U.S cou… Continue

toni Why Cyberbully???

I just wanted to blog about Cyber bullying because I can not stress it enough!! Cyber bullying is awful, and needs to be prevented. It will easily lead some kids to suicide. You never know what another person is going through. If they are having a hard time and you bully them, you have just made their life worse,… Continue

Our class just finished watching the Digital Documentary, and in my opinion, every single kid that was interviewed was a total computer, who were all apparently antisocial. All of the kids didn't have a very good relationship with their parents and didn't have very many friends, which only further proves the point that too much electronic time really kills your vibe. I think that Facebook, Myspace, and video games are cool, but whippersnappers these days just get too much. I didn't understasnd a… Continue

Christian Foster Video reflection (agian)

I think the video seemed a little bit paranoid about kids on the internet, but it still had a point. We need to strike a balance between careing about what kids see, and obsessively monitoring everything they do. Parents can't be afraid to ask there kids what they're doing on the internet, but there's no need to watch every little thing they do. If a parent has sufficent evidence to believe that their kids are involved in something they shouldn't be, step in and check out what there doing. But d… Continue

Amy Webb Video Reflection

I liked the video we watched yesterday about Internet safety. It helped me realize that teens spend too much time on the internet. It made me understand how important it is to be careful on the internet. It showed how much the internet affects schools and everything else. This video was extremely helpful. Continue

Mary Kathryn Clark Videos

The videos we watched yesterday taught us about internet safety. It was cool because it told you things that other people do. I could compare things that i normally do on the computer to what other people do. It talked about what's appropriate and inappropriate on the internet. I'm not on the internet all that much but it showed people who are on there all the time. There were things about conflicts in schools with the internet. Websites for book notes were one of the problems. Continue

Emma Latimore Reflections on the Video

It's kinda hard to start but. . . here goes :). It think the video was very truthful. Teens do spend most of their time on the internet, texting, etc. etc. I realized that on the internet, you can just be who you are without getting judged by every person who looks at your face. The internet is like a way to act however you want without thinking, "Oh, what's she going to think about my shirt? Are people going to laugh at me? Do I look pretty enough? Are they going to think I'm copyng thei… Continue

Vilexia Jackson Digiteen Video Reflections.

My opinion on the video was that, parents should have a knowledge on what their children are doing on the internet. The teens seem so unaware of the dangers of these sites that they think its a secondary lifestyle, which is totally unacceptable. The Texting situation is Ordinary. I don't see the problem with texting, unless the text messaging goes too far. On the other hand, parents should be happy their children are busy into the phone instead of constantly into trou… Continue

Hunter Blocher Digiteen Video Reflections

My class just finished watching the "growing up online" video. The video helped me understand how important it is to be safe on the internet. The video also talked about growing up or being mature online. I thnk it is important to practice digital citisenship online. It means not being rude and not saying things that would affend other people (different races, cultures, or religions). It talked about how people on facebook, myspace (or any other social website) act like a different person. Continue
