Collin Cummings Hackers

Hackers There are two very important terms, which are misused by many of us on a day-to-day basis. These words are hackers and crackers By hacker, you probably think of some teenager living in their parents garage who has way too much time on their hands. The truth is, most of the successful hackers who create viruses are really intelligent adults who will spend great amounts of time creating a virus that will make your life miserable. Sometimes they are paid to do this, other times they are ju… Continue

Collin Cummings Security and Safety

Security and Safety -The issue of protecting yourself from harm while on the internet, whether it is a virus, a stalker, or unfriendly people -The internet can be accessed by anyone and everyone! -The speed and innovation of the security and safety is how fast things can change to be made more secure. For example, if a virus protection is defective, people will try to innovate, or change it, as fast as possible. -Many things are stored on the internet, including bank accounts, phone bills, and h… Continue

M.L.I law in the digital world

Well, its a little hard to find web law. First, there is internet in many countries. So, it is hard for world leaders to make web laws, because there are so many peple that have to agree. Another thing is that there are so many web sites, it would take forever to go through them all and make laws concerning what people may or may not do on certain web sites. For example, if the U.S wanted to make a law aginst putting your personal information on the internet, and the U.K didn't, then the U.S cou… Continue

toni Why Cyberbully???

I just wanted to blog about Cyber bullying because I can not stress it enough!! Cyber bullying is awful, and needs to be prevented. It will easily lead some kids to suicide. You never know what another person is going through. If they are having a hard time and you bully them, you have just made their life worse,… Continue

Our class just finished watching the Digital Documentary, and in my opinion, every single kid that was interviewed was a total computer, who were all apparently antisocial. All of the kids didn't have a very good relationship with their parents and didn't have very many friends, which only further proves the point that too much electronic time really kills your vibe. I think that Facebook, Myspace, and video games are cool, but whippersnappers these days just get too much. I didn't understasnd a… Continue

Christian Foster Video reflection (agian)

I think the video seemed a little bit paranoid about kids on the internet, but it still had a point. We need to strike a balance between careing about what kids see, and obsessively monitoring everything they do. Parents can't be afraid to ask there kids what they're doing on the internet, but there's no need to watch every little thing they do. If a parent has sufficent evidence to believe that their kids are involved in something they shouldn't be, step in and check out what there doing. But d… Continue

Amy Webb Video Reflection

I liked the video we watched yesterday about Internet safety. It helped me realize that teens spend too much time on the internet. It made me understand how important it is to be careful on the internet. It showed how much the internet affects schools and everything else. This video was extremely helpful. Continue

Mary Kathryn Clark Videos

The videos we watched yesterday taught us about internet safety. It was cool because it told you things that other people do. I could compare things that i normally do on the computer to what other people do. It talked about what's appropriate and inappropriate on the internet. I'm not on the internet all that much but it showed people who are on there all the time. There were things about conflicts in schools with the internet. Websites for book notes were one of the problems. Continue

Emma Latimore Reflections on the Video

It's kinda hard to start but. . . here goes :). It think the video was very truthful. Teens do spend most of their time on the internet, texting, etc. etc. I realized that on the internet, you can just be who you are without getting judged by every person who looks at your face. The internet is like a way to act however you want without thinking, "Oh, what's she going to think about my shirt? Are people going to laugh at me? Do I look pretty enough? Are they going to think I'm copyng thei… Continue

Vilexia Jackson Digiteen Video Reflections.

My opinion on the video was that, parents should have a knowledge on what their children are doing on the internet. The teens seem so unaware of the dangers of these sites that they think its a secondary lifestyle, which is totally unacceptable. The Texting situation is Ordinary. I don't see the problem with texting, unless the text messaging goes too far. On the other hand, parents should be happy their children are busy into the phone instead of constantly into trou… Continue

Hunter Blocher Digiteen Video Reflections

My class just finished watching the "growing up online" video. The video helped me understand how important it is to be safe on the internet. The video also talked about growing up or being mature online. I thnk it is important to practice digital citisenship online. It means not being rude and not saying things that would affend other people (different races, cultures, or religions). It talked about how people on facebook, myspace (or any other social website) act like a different person. Continue

☻☺Caroline☺☻ Video Reflection

Okay. I'm going to tell you what I feel about the video. I think that we shouldn't live seperate lives on the internet. You should act like you do in person on the Internet. You shouldn't be mean on there if you aren't in person. That makes you fake. Be yourself so people can learn to like you for who you are, not your fake personality. I also think that we should have atleast some privacy on the Internet. I personally wouldn't put all my info on the Web. Just think how many creeps are in the wo… Continue

Brittany Gill Video Reflection

Yesterday, our class watched the Growing Up On Line video. It made me think about internet safety and keeping some information personal. You don't know who is out there--someone could be trying to track you down! Putting personal information on your facebook, myspace, digiteen, ect. can increase the chance of this. This video also made me realize that you don't need to leave bad comments on someone's profile. Drama gets stirred up then fights can happen. I think it is easier for most people to s… Continue

M.L.I video reflection

Teens are mostly digital. They spend more time on the internet than actually live thier lives. I think its ok to be on the internet, me personally im practically addicted to W.O.W, but i dont think its ok to spend all your time on the internet. Parents should probably learn just a bit more about computers. I think they should be able to moniter their children, with moderation. I don't think they should breath down their kids throats though. Teens definantly shouldn't put their address or phone n… Continue

Austin William Savage Digiteen Vid Reflection

I think the video had many strong points about the online world. Although I thought it was a little too overpowering about how much kids require the internet to survive. I for one, can say that I don't need the internet, but I enjoy it's information and entertainment (mostly music and games). The security issue is one that I feel is important. I do think they adressed this in the video well, but I think I could do better. For me, this is a sort of a personal issue for me because I can easily hac… Continue

Saqib Hameed Video Reflection

I learned that many people are addicted to the internet. They spend more time on the computer than with their friends or family. Some people think they can put anything on the internet and their friends won't say anything about them. The Internet can be dangerous if you don't be careful on what you put. Continue

Matt Schoonover Video Reflection

We watched the intro video yesterday. It got me thinking about digital entertainment and saftey. Some people put too much of their self onto the internet, but you shouldn't do that. You can still be on the internet and have fun without being in danger. Make you profiles private, and you can still go to the websites that you normally go to. Youtube, facebook, and myspace are really cool and very fun, but you shouldn't go overboard with them. The most important thing is not to become addicted to t… Continue

Amber Breland Video Reflection

I think the video showed a lot of things that I didn't even know teenagers were doing on the computer. I don't do the things that they do like add a lot of people on Facebook or Myspace that they don't even know, or putting inapproriate things on the internet that anybody can see. It made me think that people that are out there a lot more untrustworthy then they may seem. The people on the video seemed like something that would never happen to somebody but then I realized that all these people w… Continue

Lisa Dittman Video Reflection

I learned from the videos yesterday that our generation is the most "tech savvy". Like thirty years ago they didnt have the technology we have. They had like books and that's it. They didnt communicate like we do. There were no phones, no computers, so that means no texting, no emailing, no myspace or facebook. They communicated face to face so they always knew the real you. With like texting or the internet, you can be someone completely different. You have a different persona. People think tha… Continue
