I think that for many the term "stalk" has become synonymous with "check out my profile" or "add me." I can ask them to avoid using the phrase and as for using last names in their posts I'll be happy to have them edit their post and remove last names.

Hello Digiteen Teachers!
I've seen a lot of activity in the Ning the past few days - yeay! Please take time each day to "check in" and see what your students have written and also check the chat box below.
After reading a few posts, I wanted to discuss a few things. Should students add their last names to their posts? Also, I've seen the word "stalk" being used as well. They are using it instead of writing "read". Is there a difference with the word's connotation?
